PAYSTRAX is an innovative financial technology company specialising in payment card acquiring, providing European and UK merchants with state-of-the-art solutions for all their electronic payment transaction needs. PAYSTRAX is a licensed Payment Institution as well as a principal member of both Visa and Mastercard. As the Company is expanding, we are looking for an Information Security Engineer to join an ambitious team in Vilnius, Lithuania.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Help maintain compliance with security standards (e.g. PCI DSS, ISO 27001, DORA) by supporting audits.
- Run and review security scans (vulnerability, malware, basic configuration checks) and help track fixes.
- Monitor and manage security alerts, incidents, system recommendations, and general threat information, and escalate issues when needed.
- Assist with security documentation updates (policies, procedures, guidelines).
SUPPORTING ACTIVITIES
- Participate in risk assessments and security testing alongside internal teams or external vendors.
- Support incident response activities when security issues occur.
- Help review the security of third-party vendors and software using existing checklists.
- Contribute to security awareness efforts, such as internal communications or training support.
- Assist in evaluating new security tools when requested.
WHAT THIS ROLE WILL LEARN
- Understand and maintain PCI DSS compliance, including audit preparation, evidence collection, and control validation.
- Learn how to prioritize vulnerabilities, track remediation actions, and verify fixes in collaboration with technical teams.
- Monitor and respond to security alerts and incidents, contributing to incident detection, investigation, escalation, and resolution.
- Develop skills in incident management and response, including documentation, lessons learned, and follow-up actions.
- Participate in risk assessments, penetration testing coordination, and security testing with internal teams or external vendors.

REQUIREMENTS
- Experience in Information Security, IT or similar roles.
- Understanding of information security principles and common security controls.
- Familiarity with security standards and regulations.
- Understanding of user access management and least-privilege principles.
- Experience or exposure to security monitoring or vulnerability scanning tools.
- General understanding of network and system security concepts (firewalls, endpoint protection, VPNs).
- Ability to follow established procedures, document work, and support audits.
- Fluent English language skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a regulated fintech environment.
- A proactive, adaptable, and people-focused mindset working with IT, compliance, and non-technical teams.
